Hi Everyone,

This month some of my writer friends are posting pictures of our favorite place to read and or write.  One of my favorite places to read when the weather is nice, is on the deck outside my bedroom. I can look west and see mountains over 80 miles away, north and see mountains near Santa Fe,  or I can look east and see this view. It’s a bit brown this time of year here in the high desert, but every evening those mountains turn watermelon colored as the sun sets. (Hence the name, Sandia Mountains, which mean watermelon in Spanish :0) And that’s my hint to stop reading and go make dinner!

  1. Love our pink mountains at sunset! You have a beautiful view.

How incredibly beautiful, Tammy. I’ve never been to New Mexico but your photos make me want to visit! I’d love to see one of those sunsets!

  3. Kay Hudson says:

Lovely, Tammy! Peeping over my computer monitor at an overgrown backyard–very green, no watermelons in sight.

  4. Jean Willett says:

Wow, what a view! I’ve only been to Las Vegas and Reno areas. Drove to Lake Tahoe with incredible views. The desert is such a different landscape than east of the Mississippi. I must visit 🙂

  5. Carol Post says:

Wow, Tammy, I love your views! Lots of wide open spaces. Those pink mountains are really cool!
